One of the best books I have read.

Good, comprehensive text

Great, easy-to-follow recipesThe text is reasonably large, and the book is large enough to lay open without anything holding it open, which I liked. Wonderful pictures are scattered throughout, thought I could have wished for more. (That's a small complaint, though.)
So far, I have made the Potato Dumplings Stuffed with Bacon (p.56) and the Sour Cream Waffles (p. 96), and both were delicious! I am planning on making several other things, but I have no basis to comment on them, yet. Overall, I found this to be a very nice cookbook, one well worth having!

Witchcraft

Great book for getting guick background on FinlandThe tourist descriptions of what to see, places to stay and eat, etc. always seem to be pretty good and accurate.
Lots of lovely memoriesThere are two big selling points for these guide books. One they are very small, light and easy to follow. Two, into a mere 100 odd pages, the authors have crammed a wealth of info/pictures on the country, its history, culture, customs - as well as 12 unforgettable journey's.
Five stars and lots of lovely memories.

RecommendedThe present volume traces the life and career of this important artist. Born in southern Finland, Tom played the piano at local coffee shops to supplement his income as a graphic artist until his watercolors of male sexuality began to appear as covers on major American gay publications. His impact as an artist has since stretched far beyond the gay scene.
About the Author
Micha Ramakers is an art historian. He has written extensively on the work of Tom of Finland and other visual expressions of post-war gay subcultures. He has been a writer and editor for a number of gay and lesbian magazines and a contributor to several books on international lesbian and gay politics. He has also been the curator and director of the gay and lesbian film festival in Brussels, where he lives.
Text in English / German / French, approximately 350 pages, 500 illustrations
Tom Of Finland: The Art Of PleasureThis book is not just pornography, it is a wake up call of gay awareness. Large, thick and hot, this book has many examples of Tom's artistic and sexual contribution on a large coffee table format and high quality paper.
It's both thought provoking and erotic. It transformed the effeminate gay self image with one that is all man, and very masculine. It is nothing less than an icon.
Obsession of manlyness

For the kids ...Interesting subcurrent is the obvious anti-russian sentiment. Considering the time this was written, maybe it was subconsciously also anti-soviet?
True adventure stories that read like a finely crafted novel
Not just for history buffs!
